This weekend was a writing weekend. I did manage to get my synopsis. It’s about four pages and only really covers the main story line. Honestly, I don’t like it. I like the beginning, I think it’s spot on and right where I need to get things going, but the middle is way more than muddled and the ending just flat out sucks. All of this is okay though, because I have something down on paper. I’ve been kicking the story around in my mind and I know why it’s not working. Developing a strong self-criticism skill is extremely helpful. That’s one of the many things Clarion West gave me. I don’t think it strengthened until about a year away from CW, but it’s come into its own now. So this week I’ll be decomposing my synopsis and building a new one from the parts—frankenmanuscript!
I played a couple of hours worth of WAR. Not to bad. I’ve found that the Zealot class is really good in public quests, but not so great on the battleground. The Disciple seems the opposite of that for me. I haven’t had a lot of patience for games lately.
My little girl started second grade today. I spoke with her a little yesterday on the phone and she seemed excited about it. One of the casualties of divorce for the other parent—who is usually the dad—is you miss out on this sort of good stuff. I’ll see her tomorrow night though. I’m sure she’ll have lots to tell me then.
